About the Winery

Antinori Pèppoli

Established by the Antinori family, Antinori Pèppoli is an endeavour and story passed down through twenty-six generations. Since 1385, the family has developed and produced high-quality wine. It began when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Winemaker’s Guild, the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri, located at Florence. Since then, the descendants of the Antinori family upheld their duties and responsibilities and managed the winery’s business. They formulated bold and innovative decisions while following and respecting the traditions and customs of their ancestors.

In today’s time, Albiera Antinori serves the position of Marchesi Antinori’s President with the powerful and continuous support of her sisters, Alessia and Allegra. They remain involved in the family business and handle the required matters and work in the first person. Marchese Piero Antinori, the father of the three sisters, is the company’s contemporary Honourary President. The family uses and incorporates the three driving elements of passions, tradition, and intuition to establish Antinori Pèppoli as one of the most significant Italian winemakers.

Located five kilometres of the Tenuta Tignanello estate in the northeast direction, the Pèppoli estate possesses 100 hectares of land. Out of this, 50 hectares get used for planting vineyards. It serves as the home and base to Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG. The area enjoys an ideal and peaceful microclimate. The surrounding valleys warm and protect the place. The gravelly soils of the vineyards have a high mineral content that provides a fruity character to Sangiovese grapes.

The Pèppoli estate follows a long-standing practice for producing Pèppoli Red Wine Vinegar and Pèppoli Extra Virgin Olive Oil. They use traditional methods to convert their wine into vinegar. Since the beginning, all individuals involved with Antinori Pèppoli sought to improve the quality of their products. It stands true even now with all the current workers.
