Product Notes

Argento Malbec is a deep, rich and full-bodied wine that is made from the Argentinian Malbec grape. This wine has been crafted with care and precision to bring out the best of the varietal in every sip. It boasts a dark ruby red color with aromas of blackberry, vanilla, and leather, creating a complex bouquet. The flavor profile has a wonderful combination of ripe black fruit, a hint of spice, and a subtle smokiness that is balanced with a good acidity. This wine is perfect for pairing with rich, flavorful foods and for cozy nights in. Overall, Argento Malbec is a beautiful Argentinian wine that is worth a try for all red wine lovers.

Tasting Notes

This medium-bodied red wine has aromas and flavours of plums, black cherries and hints of violet. It has a velvety smooth texture and a soft lingering finish.

About the Winery

Argento

Mendoza is the biggest wine producing area in Argentina, with more than 80% of the country’s wines coming from this place. The height, desert climate and the low humidity content of the Mendoza area help in creating deep-coloured and intense-flavoured grapes. The three vineyards from where grapes are sourced to create Bodega Argento wines are Valle de Uco, Central Region and Eastern Region.

Valle de Uco – Located at a height of about 900 to 1400m above sea level, this area is located towards south of Mendoza, with Mount Andes at the backdrop. The extreme climatic conditions of this place make it favourable for cultivating Chardonnay, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon vines.

Central Region – Here, the vines are located at an altitude of 900 to 1100m above sea level.  The soil here is rich in alluvial content; therefore, you will notice the varietals such as Malbec, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon here as well.

Eastern Region –In the earlier days, this was the main winegrowing area of Mendoza. Here, the vines are located at a height of about 600 to 750m above sea level. The climate and soil conditions in this area help it to grow juicy and concentrated grapes with deep colours such as the Bonarda and Syrah.

The winery, constructed during 1970, is located at Cruz de Piedra in Mendoza. Surrounded by vineyards and olive trees all over, this winery is a sight to behold, indeed! The winemaking methods vary based on the soil type and grape varietal cultivated in the Mendoza area.  The winemaking team doesn’t compromise on the quality check as it tastes the grapes thoroughly to decide the perfect harvesting method for them.

The five estates from where grapes are sourced for Bodega Argento wines are Agrelo, Altamira, Ugarteche, Pedemonte and Cruz de Piedra.  The flagship grape varietal of this brand is Malbec.
