About the Winery

Champagne Duval-Leroy

Champagne Duval-Leroy is a notable producer of Champagne based in the village of Vertus in the region of Côte des Blancs. Established in 1859 by Edouard Leroy, the winery produces non-vintage and vintage cuvées. Additionally, it develops a line or series of organic wines.

Edouard was a wine trader in Villers-Franqueux town who entered the wine industry as a partner of Jules Duval. He engaged in winemaking and grape growing. In 1991, the late Jean Charles Duval’s wife, Carol Duval-Leroy, took over the winery and started managing its business. She oversaw and supervised the gradual yet steady growth of Champagne Duval-Leroy.

Since its establishment, Champagne Duval-Leroy has focused on promoting and facilitating a sustainable approach to viticulture. The winery considers issues and concerns related to the environment and various statutory constraints. It does so before implementing its cultivation methods and techniques. It incorporates reliable and beneficial measures and practices to combat the problems of erosion, surface run-off, and pollution. On top of that, Champagne Duval-Leroy works to preserve the natural qualities of the land and biodiversity. As such, it engages in various ecological niche restoration works.

Champagne Duval-Leroy limits the use of pesticides and weed killers in the vineyards significantly. Similarly, it has lowered the usage and consumption of water and phytosanitary products that protect the parcels. The winery has optimised its work methods to make all thesepossible.

On the other hand, Champagne Duval-Leroy invests in and uses renewable energy sources to power the winery. It includes different and distinct portions, such as the reception areas, cellars, and tastingrooms. Moreover, it has implemented a policy for appropriate wastemanagement and disposal. It prevents pollution that can impair the quality of the climate and soil. Otherwise, the surroundings can get damaged. It can decrease the standard of the grapevines.
