Product Notes

Chateau d'Esclans Whispering Angel Rose is a Provence-style wine that is highly lauded by wine enthusiasts around the world. This delicately pink-colored wine is made from a blend of Grenache, Rolle and Cinsault grapes, which are grown in the picturesque vineyards of southern France. As the name suggests, the wine has a whispering quality, displaying subtle aromas of grapefruit, peach, and red berries with a hint of minerality. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, with a zesty acidity that balances the fruit flavors, ultimately leading to a long and satisfying finish. This is a wine that is perfect for a warm summer evening, picnics, or a weekend brunch with friends.

About the Winery

Chateau d'Esclans

Built around the 19th century, the Chateau d’Esclans is a sprawling area set on the Mediterranean Coast, about 25 km from Frejus, an old city in Rome. This winery is quite different from others because of its elevated location. If you are looking for class and elegance in your wines, you should try the ones from Chateau d’Esclans.

The age-old vines grown in Chateau d’Esclans are known for their famous Grenache grapes. These grapes offer more concentration and flavour than the grapes grown in the other vines. On the Chateau d’ESclans, you will notice that there are vines as old as 90 years, especially on the elevated peaks. This is the predominant reason for the exceptional flavour of the wines of this region. Some of the other popular varieties of grapes grown in this winery are Vermentino, Cinsault, Merlot, Tibouren and more.

The foundation of this winery was set during 1201, making it the most ancient winery in this region. However, the winery that you see presently was built around the 19th century. You can be assured of the quality of Chateau d’Esclans because the grapes of this area are manually handpicked by experts and given a lot of care during the harvesting process. The grapes that are carefully selected are then sent for sorting.

The grapes are carefully sorted and de-stemmed so that they match the specifications provided by the winemakers before they are sent for vinification. The grapes then pass through rigorous quality control tests to test their colour, shape, character and size. Only those grapes that pass these tests are sent to the next process of cooling & pressing. Since there are lots of tests conducted to check if the grapes have made the cut, you can be sure that the resultant Whispering Angels wines that you enjoy are full of richness and flavours. This is exactly what makes the winery one of the most respected ones in the market today.

The grapes that are carefully selected and sorted are then exposed to a heat-exchange system where they are introduced to temperatures as high as 29 degrees Celsius and as low as 8 degrees Celsius. These heat-induced grapes are then introduced to a soft-press to make three varieties of juices from them. Based on these varieties, the winemakers then arrange them in relevant barrels. The standout feature of the Chateau d’Esclans is that quality control is an on-going process here.

Chateau d’Esclans boasts of an impressive collection of wines that are held in high regard even by the harshest wine critics. You must be living under a rock if you haven’t heard about the exotic collection of wines from this winery. The Rock Angel, Les Clans, Garrus, Deesse Diane (Red) and Deesse Astree (White) wines that you love so much are all from the Chateau d’Eslcans winery.

Ever since Sacha Lichine took over Chateau d’Esclans in the year 2006, the winery has been growing by leaps and bounds. Today, the winery boasts of a whopping 659 acres, which are entirely dedicated to growing the highest quality of grapes with great care and quality-control measures.
