Product Notes

Far Niente Estate Bottled Napa Valley Chardonnay is a luxurious offering from the renowned Far Niente winery. This wine is crafted from select grapes grown in the Napa Valley region, known for producing some of the finest Chardonnays in the world. The 2018 vintage features aromas of crisp apple, citrus, and vanilla, followed by hints of honey and hazelnut on the palate. It is a well-balanced wine with a rich texture that is a result of being aged in French oak barrels for nearly a year. Far Niente Estate Bottled Napa Valley Chardonnay is a perfect pairing for seafood, poultry, and creamy pasta dishes.

Tasting Notes

Delicate aromas of melon, sweet citrus and white floral notes are layered with nuances of flint, yeast and sweetly toasted oak. A smooth, focused and silky palate delivers ripe flavours of honeydew and lemon, supported by just of touch of wet stone, yeast and toasted hazelnuts. The finish is deliciously mouthwatering and long.

About the Winery

Far Niente

Located in one of the premium wine regions of the USA, the Far Niente Winery was established in 1885 by John Benson. When he set up the winery on the hills located on the west of Oakville, he wanted to ensure that the grapes are processed as naturally as possible. This is why this winery is designed in the gravity-flow design.

It was in 1976 that the ownership of the Far Niente Winery changed from Benson to Gil Nickel. While buying the winery, Nickel purchased the nearby vineyards as well. Though the ownership changed, Nickel didn’t want to change the name, because it had some unique charm to it. In 1982, the Far Niente winery harvested its first Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes.

Currently, the brand owns over 300 acres of vineyards that are located across some of the important wine regions in Napa Valley. The five vineyards where the grapes for the historic Far Niente wines are crafted are:

The Martin Stelling Vineyard – Spread across 57 acres, this is the biggest vineyard of the group. It is located in Oakville. While Cabernet Sauvignon is the most planted varietal here, you can also find Petit Verdot on small lots.

John C Sullenger – This 42-acre vineyard is also located in Oakville. The grapes for Napa Valley Cabernet wine comes from here. You will find the Nickel & Nickel Winery here.

Barrow Lane Vineyard – Located in the cool area of Coombsville, this 18-acre vineyard is situated at the foothills of the hills. The Chardonnay grown here is blessed with a good exposure, which helps in increasing its intensity.

John’s Creek Vineyard – This is a 50-acre vineyard located at Coombsville. The grapes for Napa Valley Chardonnay blend come from here.

Carpenter Vineyard – Also located at Coombsville, this 25-acre vineyard is situated at the foothills of the Vaca Mountains. The grapes for Far Niente Chardonnay blend come from here.
