Anthonij Rupert is a famous South African winery established on the L’Ormarins farm in the town of Franschhoek. Originally, Anthonij Rupert owned the estate and the vineyards. However, after he passed away in 2001, Johann Rupert, his brother, took over the ownership rights in 2003. After the change of owners, the winery witnessed a surge in its potential and production.
Johann went into an intense pursuit of quality and excellence. He did so to honour his brother. He changed the estate’s name from L’Ormarins to Anthonij Rupert to depict his passion and ambition. It was all because his brother’s dream was to see the region of the Cape produce and distribute world-class and high standard wines.
