About Berton Vineyards
If you are looking for a young wine label that is friendly and authentic at the same time, the Australian wines created under the label, Berton Vineyards are a great choice for you. This label was created in the year 1996 by Bob and Cherie Berton.
The idea of starting their own brand was conceptualized when they purchased a small block of land in High Eden, located in the wine-rich area of Barossa Valley in South Australia. Shiraz and Chardonnay were the first varietals to be planted on this block of land. The year 2005 saw Berton Vineyards investing in a winery to process the 100 tonnes of fruits cultivated at the High Eden Vineyard.
Located at 500m above sea level, these vineyards are known for producing some of the best quality of Shiraz in the entire Barossa Valley region. Though Shiraz is the predominant varietal here, these vineyards also grow other varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Berton Vineyards have many different ranges of wines, and it makes use of grapes from different places for each of these ranges to ensure that the wines are authentic.
The grapes grown in Coonawarra, Swan Valley, King Valley, Yarra Valley and Tasmania vineyards are also used for manufacturing wines from the Reserve and Metal Range of wines. Some of the wines in this range are:
Outback Jack Chardonnay – Made from 100% Chardonnay cultivated in Southeast Australia
Winemakers Reserve Fiano – Made from the Fiano varietal cultivated in the Riverina region
Reserve Barossa Shiraz – Made from 100% Shiraz grapes grown in the High Eden Vineyards of Western Australia
Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon – Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown the Coonawarra Vineyards
Ever since the Berton Family acquired the winery located in New South Wales, this brand has been regarded as one of the 20 biggest wineries in Australia.
