About Bodegas Valdemar
Bodegas Valdemar serves as one of the most renowned wine estates and cellars in the Oyón town in the province of Alava in Spain. The origin of the winery dates back to 1889, accumulating over 130 years of rich history. The initial story began with Joaquín Martínez Bujanda, the founder and first-generation owner of Bodegas Valdemar.
Joaquín was skilled in the art and craft of winemaking as he gained experience by producing wines in his native town of Oyón. He passed on his knowledge to Marcelino, his son, and Jesús, his grandson. They followed suit by performing and working in the same manner. In the 1980s, Jesús and his son of the same name set up and established Bodegas Valdemar.
Today, the fifth and fourth generations of the family manage and handle all operations of the Bodegas Valdemar. Hence, Jesús Martínez Bujanda and his children, Ana and Jesús, oversee the winery. They work hard and toil to improve the existing systems and all the attributes of the wine they produce. They aim to create and develop novelties that provide a distinguishable yet personal touch in the industry.
