About Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay
Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay, located in the eminent village and area of Chassagne-Montrachet, is a famous winery in Côte de Beaune in the territory of Burgundy in France. Initially, the wine estate of Domaine Coffinet remained under the ownership of the Coffinet family for generations since 1860. The proprietorship of one part of the domain passed onto Laura Coffinet and the other part of her sister around the 1980s. Later, the former, with her husband Philippe Duvernay, came together to establish Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay. The couple started their winemaking journey and endeavour with no more than seven vineyards.
Today, Laura Coffinet and Philippe Duvernay strive to raise fame and spread the name of Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay. The two work with some of the best cru parcels, namely Les Blanchots Dessus and Dent de Chien, to bring out the rich flavour in the wines produced by the esteemed winery. The primary strategy or scheme employed is to spend the maximum possible time in the vineyards. They do so because they believe that the creation or production of the best wines begins from the field or terroir itself.
Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay strives to intervene in the vineyards and the vinification process as little as possible. They prefer allowing nature to take its course and permitting the grapes to ripen with minimal human interference. Furthermore, Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay believes in quality over quantity and thus controls its yields. It, in turn, enables the winery’s wines to acquire a distinctive and natural characteristic that can effortlessly surpass others of its kind or category.
On top of that, Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay employs a malolactic fermentation process to develop its wines. It enables the drinks to attain a desirable feel, texture, aroma, flavour, mouthfeel, colour, and aftertaste. Thus, all products of Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay have an exceptional balance that leaves the drinkers desiring more.
