Product Notes

Humberto Canale Estate Pinot Noir is a stunning red wine originating from the Rio Negro Valley region in Argentina. This wine is made from the finest handpicked Pinot Noir grapes, which are grown on the estate's vineyards, which are nestled alongside the Limay River. It features a bright ruby red color and a delicate aroma of red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, with subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak. The palate offers a silky and refined texture, with a supple tannin structure and a gentle acidity that lingers on the finish. This Pinot Noir is a perfect match for grilled chicken, lamb, or pasta with a rich red sauce.

Tasting Notes

Soft and ripe Pinot Noir from Patagonia, offering candied fruit, vanilla and a curl of smoke on the nose, followed by a delicate mouthful of fresh strawberries and cherries.

About the Winery

Humberto Canale

The history of Bodega Humberto Canale, the Argentinian wine label dates back to as early as 1909. It was during this time that Engineer Humberto Canale realised the potential of the Alto Valle del Rio Negro region, when he started doing some irrigation work on it. Today, 11 decades and 5 generations later, this is one of the most respected wine labels in Argentina, the country where people are quite particular about their wines.

The Bodega Humberto Canale Winery was established during 1999 in Patagonia, a place that is known for its lakes, deserts, glaciers, mountains and natural abundance all over. At the Patagonian winery, modern and traditional winemaking techniques are practiced with equal fervour and expertise, to make high-quality and individualistic wines that are symbolic of this region.

Sustainable winemaking practices such as using pomace, seeds and bees for processing, indigenous yeasts for fermentation and melt water for irrigation are followed at the winery here. Some of the popular wines from the stables of Humberto Canale are:

Barzi Canale – Made from a blend of 33% Malbec, 33% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot

Humberto Canale Gran Reserva – This category includes 4 exclusive wines made from 100% varietals such as Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Pinot Noir

Old Vineyard – This consists of grapes cultivated in one of the oldest vineyards of the place. Currently, there are 5 old vineyard wines, each made from Malbec, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Semillon and Pinot Noir Rose’

Humberto Canale Estate – These are made from Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc grown on the winery’s own estate

Intimate – wines made from 100% varietals and blends. While the blends include the one with Cabernet, Merlot & Malbec and Savignon & Semillon, the 100% varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec

Blush – Made from 100% Merlot

Marcus – Intense wines made from 100% varietals including Malbec, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc
