Product Notes
Rhys Vineyards is well known for producing some of the best Pinot Noir wines in California, and their Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is no exception. This wine is made from grapes grown in their high altitude vineyards located on the Mendocino coast. The nose is filled with aromas of blackberry, cherry, and raspberry, with hints of oak and spice. On the palate, this wine is balanced, with a smooth finish, and flavors of dark fruit and earthy notes. This Pinot Noir is complex, elegant and can be enjoyed now or cellared for years. It pairs perfectly with roasted meat, mushroom dishes, and hard cheeses.
Tasting Notes
In keeping with the Rhys philosophy of site specific wines, the Anderson Valley pinot is sourced entirely from the Bearwallow vineyard, situated at the cool end of the Anderson Valley, presented in an early drinking and enormously alluring package. Displaying textbook Bearwallow characteristics of bright fruit and finely spiced minerality in a poised, elegant and silky package. For all the sweet fruit this is never cloying or faux, the purity of fruit combining with fresh minerality to make it highly interesting, but also very moreish.
