Product Notes

Thelema Shiraz is a rich, full-bodied wine from South Africa, known for its intense flavors and aromas. It is made from handpicked grapes from the Stellenbosch region, which is renowned for producing high-quality Shiraz wines. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, which gives it a subtle vanilla and spicy undertone. On the palate, Thelema Shiraz offers a mouthful of dark fruit flavors, such as black cherry, blackcurrant, and plum. It has a long, smooth finish that leaves you with a lingering aftertaste of smoky oak. This wine is perfect for those who enjoy bold, flavorful reds that pair well with hearty meat dishes or mature cheese.

About the Winery

Thelema

The family-owned Thelema Mountain Vineyards are located in the highly wine-rich area of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Thelema wines and Sutherland wines are created from the grapes produced at these vineyards. The Thelema vineyards are located towards the south east of Simonsberg Mountain at an altitude of about 530m above sea level. This altitude enables in growing high quality and premium grapes.

Cabernet Sauvignon is the main grape varietal found here.  It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the quality of this grape varietal has put the Stellenbosch area on the international platform. The first wine under the Thelema label was released during 1988 and became an instant sell-out within a month. The area in and around Thelema is so rich in beauty and natural resources that it is considered as one of the most beautiful places on earth by wine experts.
