Product Notes

Fraser Gallop Parterre Chardonnay is a wine with a rich and complex taste. The aroma is a combination of ripe nectarines, hazelnuts, and a hint of butterscotch. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, with a delicate minerality and a lingering finish. The wine is created using a blend of different clones of Chardonnay grapes, grown in a vineyard located in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River in Western Australia. The vineyard benefits from the region's pristine growing conditions, where the soil, climate, and terroir combine to produce grapes with intense flavour and balance. This wine is perfect to enjoy with seafood, chicken dishes, or a cheese platter.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw with lime green hues. Aromas of citrus, cumquat, pineapple, citrus blossom, white peach. Lime and lemon juice with an almond glossiness and a whisper of lactose. The acidity and pH sets this up as a long term cellaring prospect which will develop a touch of richness as it matures. Should develop further complexity with 10-12 years careful cellaring.

About the Winery

Fraser Gallop

Located in the extremely wine-rich area of Margaret River in Australia, the Fraser Gallop Wine Estate sits majestically on the 165 acres of land in the area of Wilyabrup. The vines are planted at the tallest points of this region and they are all dry-grown.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grape varietals are grown in 17 acres of land each. They are the most widely grown grapes here. You will also find other red varietals that are mostly grown in one of the world’s most premium wine-growing region in Bordeaux in France. All the vines are planted with extreme care to ensure minimal intervention and organic winemaking techniques.

This brand was set up by a couple who was passionate about winemaking – Nigel and Dorothy Gallop. They created this label to make wines that were unique and true representations of the excellent Margaret Valley terroirs, where they were planted. The high-altitude and the ocean breezes help in exposing the fruits to optimal ripeness at all times. This is ideal for the cultivation of Bordeaux-type red grapes such as Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Towards the south of the estate, on the slopes, you can see some white Bordeaux varietals such as Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Like we told you earlier, the Chardonnay is the most planted white varietal here. Don’t miss out the Mendoza clone types of Chardonnay that you can see here in plenty.

The winery that was constructed in 2008, contains a maximum capacity of 300 tonnes of grapes. The French oak barrels used for fermenting these wines are chosen with great care. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends of wines are fermented in specific Bordelais coopers, whereas the Chardonnay wines are exclusively fermented in the Burgundian coopers. The winery’s customized design and modern technology make these wines intense, complex and highly flavourful.
