Product Notes
Mullineux Schist Swartland Chenin Blanc is a wine made from a single block of old vines grown in the Swartland region of South Africa. The grapes are carefully handpicked and the wine is fermented and aged in a combination of old oak barrels and concrete eggs to preserve the fresh fruit flavors while adding complexity and texture. The wine exhibits aromas of ripe peach and apricot, with hints of honey and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and creamy, with flavors of ripe tropical fruit, citrus, and a mineral-driven finish. This well-balanced wine is a perfect match for spicy Asian dishes or grilled seafood.
Tasting Notes
The 2020 vintage has aromas of fennel, fresh quince and ruby grapefruit. On the palate, notes of citrus peel and roasted almond are complemented by an inviting phenolic grip, full palate and jubilant freshness typical of this site.
