The story of the Palliser Estate is a narrative that talks about the people, their lands, and the way they handle and manage them. The winery’s wines deliver the tale of the process the workers use to ensure the taste and quality of their products. Palliser Estate serves as one of the premium wine companies and brands of New Zealand. The winery’s name connects to the honour and fame of Cape Palliser, glorifying the pioneering spirit of the region. The wines it produces help to deliver and uphold the promise of being the top in the world.
The history of Palliser Estate goes back several decades. Their first vineyards got planted in 1984, with the first harvest of their grapes in 1989. Today, the vineyards owned by the winery lie in the famous and favourable wine-growing region of Martinborough. The plots spread across an extensive area, almost reaching up to 92 hectares. Pallister Estate produces Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir primarily. A few other grapevine varieties they plant and grow consist of Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.
A total of 85 hectares of the land possessed by the winery is of ultra-premium standard and level. The wines of Palliser Estate reflect and express the character and nature of the terroir of their grapevines. The workers and staff work with the philosophy and principle of producing drinks of the highest distinction, style, and quality. It becomes evident through the colossal number of awards that the winery bags and brings home by winning various and numerous competitions.
Over the years, Palliser Estate has not focused on the flagship of a single varietal of grapevine. Nevertheless, its Sauvignon Blanc varieties have managed to set a significant benchmark. In addition to that, the winery’s Pinot Noir has become a part of New Zealand’s heavyweights.
