Product Notes

Quinta do Crasto Vintage Port is an opulent and full-bodied wine with intense aromas of blackberries, dark cherries, and plums. Produced using a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties, this Vintage Port displays remarkable complexity, balance, and harmony, complemented by a firm tannic structure. The wine is aged for approximately two years in oak barrels, leaving it with a rich and luscious texture that delivers a long, lingering finish. This Vintage Port is best enjoyed when paired with rich desserts, matured cheese, or a good cigar. Overall, Quinta do Crasto Vintage Port is a decadent and indulgent wine, perfect for any special occasion.

About the Winery

Quinta do Crasto

Northern Portugal wine brands have a rich history associated with them. The Quinta do Crasto label is no different from them, either. You can find the huge vineyards of Quinta do Crasto in the strategic location of Douro Demarcated Region, where the family-owned estates have been in existence for over 100 years. The history of this wine label dates back to as early as 1615!

Constantino de Almeida purchased the Quinta do Crasto wine brand in the 20th century. Today, his family runs this label and is one of the most reputed makers of Port wine across the world. One of the most important reasons for the highest quality of reds, whites and premium wines produced by this label is the excellent quality of terroir found here.

The Douro Demarcated Region has three important areas with diverse types and qualities of terroir. They are Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. These areas spread across over 135 hectares, with over 74 exclusively dedicated for vine cultivation.  The grapes grown in these three regions are very ripe and full of character, as a result of which the Port wines crafted using them are highly popular.

The Cima Corgo region is very dry and is the best-suited area in North Portugal for creating highly-intense and flavourful wines. You will notice the traditional terrace-type of cultivation in this region.

Apart from these, there are specific lots of around 40 hectares of old vines here, which grow highly unique grapes. Some of the popular old vine plots of this estate are Vinha Maria Teresa, Vinha dos Cardanhos de Cima and Vinha da Ponte.

Located near the Douro River, the Vinha Maria Teresa is one of the oldest vines in this area, as it over 100 years old. Today, the wine estate of Quinta do Crasto is famous for its wine tourism initiative.
