Product Notes

Rocca di Frassinello Le Sughere di Frassinello is a remarkable wine that perfectly blends the flavors of Tuscany and Bordeaux. The blend is made up of 50% Sangioveto, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Merlot, resulting in a complex and well-balanced wine. The nose is full of rich, red fruit flavors, including cherry and raspberry. On the palate, the cherry and raspberry notes continue, along with hints of vanilla, tobacco, and espresso. The tannins are smooth and firm, leading to a long and satisfying finish. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to hearty Italian dishes or grilled meats.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby colour, with a broad bouquet of red fruits. It has great substance in the mouth, with soft and round tannins and a long and enveloping finish

About the Winery

Rocca di Frassinello

The endeavour and venture of Rocca di Frassinello got inspired by an ordinary idea. The owners merely wished to replicate the excellence and superiority that the reputed Castellare di Castellina winery possesses and expresses in another region. It led to the establishment of Rocca di Frassinello in the heart and middle of the Maremma area. The winery lies between Scansano and Bolgheri, enjoying the geographical and climatic benefits of the region.

The Maremma region has slightly higher temperatures than other wine regions. It allows the grapes to ripen three to four weeks before the estimated time. It, in turn, enables the wines produced from the harvested fruits to retain superior taste, colour, and aroma. Rocca di Frassinello primarily deals with and plants specific grape varieties such as Shiraz, Cabernet, Petit Verdot, and Merlot. They get cultivated across 90 hectares of land. They are a part of the 500 hectares of vineyards owned by Rocca di Frassinello that expand and extend over five unique and distinct farms.

Rocca di Frassinello experiences excellent sea wind from the plains between Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia. The constant and consistent breeze removes significant moisture from the prevailing air. It allows the region to experience a mild climate in both the summer and winter months. On top of that, the soil conditions and composition of the Maremma region promote and facilitate the development and growth of excellent grapevines that bear plump, sweet, colourful, and juicy fruits. It, in turn, enables the wines developed, produced, and sold by the winery to retain top-class and outstanding qualities. The drinks go and pair well with most cuisine and drinks of Italian or international origin. On top of that, the personality and elegance of the products make them appealing to numerous wine enthusiasts and consumers all across the globe.
