About the Winery

The Federalist

The Federalist Wines takes great pride in its brand because of its ability to brew authentic American Craft Wine, that is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. Every single wine bottle that comes from the brand is well-crafted by talented winesmiths from the choicest of grapes that they grow so painstakingly. The popular wines from this brand are Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi Zinfandel, Honest Red Blend, Chardonnay, Visionary Zinfandel, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Zinfandel, and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Red Blend.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is the popular wine of the Federalist brand. It is made using full-bodied grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite, Syrah, and Sangiovese.  This wine contains traces of cinnamon, blackberry and cherry flavours in it. The alcohol content of this wine is quite high, at about 14.90%.

The Chardonnay is the only white wine that is created in the cellars of the Federalist brand. It is made using 100% Chardonnay variety of grapes and comes with a thick, fruity flavour that is hard to miss. This wine contains an alcohol content of 14.50% and comes with powerful aromas of cinnamon, citrus, and pear fruit.

The Bourbon barrel-aged varieties of wine (Zinfandel and Red Blend) are made using Federalist’s unique American wine-making process, where the wines are aged in the barrels for six long months, to give them the thick flavour and character that they deserve. The Zinfandel barrel aged wines are made using many grape varieties such as Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Merlot. After fermentation, they are kept for ageing in oak barrels for 6 months and bourbon barrels for another 6 months.

In the case of the Bourbon Barrel-Aged Red Blend wines, grape varieties such as Merlot, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon are used for extracting the juice. After fermentation, these wines are aged for 15 months in 35% new oak barrels.
