Product Notes
Borgo del Tiglio Collio Rosso is a beautiful Italian red wine that is crafted from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes. This wine hails from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in northeast Italy, where the vineyards are located on a steep hill overlooking the Isonzo river. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand, and then fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged for 16 months in French oak barrels. The result is a wine with a deep ruby color, an intense bouquet of red fruit, spices, and wood, and a rich, full-bodied taste with a long, elegant finish. This wine pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. It is a wine that will delight even the most discerning wine lover.
Tasting Notes
Collio Rosso is a Bordeaux blend, mainly Merlot to which small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon are added. The small production of this wine comes from the vines of Ronco di San Giorgio, in Brazzano. The soil comes from a grey-brown marl, from which clays suitable for Merlot are formed. The wine is full-bodied with a rich presence of soft tannins, and is salty and persistent .
