Richard Kershaw Clonal Selection Syrah is a premium wine from South Africa's Elgin region, produced by renowned winemaker Richard Kershaw. Selected from the best vineyards with optimal growing conditions, the wine is made from Shiraz/Syrah grapes, clones that have been carefully curated to bring out their best flavors. The wine is barrel-aged for 12 months to add depth and complexity. The resultant wine has a deep, dark ruby color with intense aromas of dark blackberry, plum, and spice. On the palate, it boasts a full-bodied structure, with a smooth and silky texture and notes of dark fruit, black pepper, and hints of leather. Initially, Richard worked as a chef and had a successful career in the field. However, he switched his area of expertise after realising his passion and love for wine. Richard travelled extensively, arriving in South Africa in 1999. By 2009, he became Kanu and Mulderbosch’s group winemaker. He achieved several other feats and accomplishments later in the line. For instance, he got awarded in 2011 as the Master of Wine. Richard’s endeavours and ventures in the winemaking industry laid the groundwork for establishing his distinct winery, Richard Kershaw.
