Product Notes
Schug Winery Carneros Pinot Noir is a classic example of the high-quality wines that are produced in California's Carneros region. The Pinot Noir grapes used in this wine are carefully selected and grown on the winery's own estate vineyards. The result is a rich and complex wine that is full of flavors of black cherry, raspberry, and spice. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, which adds a layer of vanilla and toasted oak to the wine. On the palate, the wine is silky and elegant, with a long and satisfying finish. This Pinot Noir is perfect to pair with roasted meats, grilled vegetables, and other hearty dishes.
Tasting Notes
This classic Carneros region Pinot Noir offers a wide range of flavors and aromas, in the tradition of the finest red Burgundies of France. Clonal diversity is achieved by carefully blending several vineyard lots, each retaining its own unique clonal signature in the blend. The result is a complex wine with a rich bouquet of red cherries, raspberry and hints of spicy new oak. It has elegant flavors of strawberry and blackberry, followed by a juicy and spicy texture and a long silky finish. This wine pairs nicely with lamb, duck, grilled fish, and will improve with additional cellaring for 2 to 5 years.
