Product Notes

Sebastiani Butterfield Station Chardonnay is a delightful white wine that embodies the essence of California's sun-drenched vineyards. With a pale straw color and shimmering golden hues, this Chardonnay boasts aromas of ripe pear, green apple, and a hint of toasted oak. On the palate, flavors of citrus, tropical fruits, and vanilla dance across the tongue, creating a rich and creamy mouthfeel that is both smooth and refreshing. The wine's medium body and balanced acidity make it a versatile companion for a variety of dishes, from creamy pastas to grilled seafood. Enjoy a glass of Sebastiani Butterfield Station Chardonnay and experience the perfect harmony of fruit, oak, and elegance in every sip.

Tasting Notes

2022 Butterfield Station Chardonnay fills the glass with aromas of baked apple, fresh Asian pear, and creamy vanilla. This wine has a round mouthfeel with layers of rich butterscotch, ginger, and baking spice flavours. This easy-to-drink style Chardonnay pairs nicely with a variety of food and stands well on its own.

About the Winery

Sebastiani

Sebastiani Wines, set up in 1904, is one of the oldest and traditional winemaking labels in Sonoma County. For over a hundred years, this label has been making some of the best wines that you will ever taste in this region. In the year 2008, this winery underwent a change of ownership. Bill Foley purchased this brand during this year, and since then, lots of changes have been happening at the vineyards here.

One of the best features of Sebastiani Wines is that it makes use of some of the plots of vineyards from Sonoma County. This is one of the diverse wine regions of the world, because it contains many different types of soil qualities and terroir conditions. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean give it an excellent blend of cool and warm climates, which give full-bodied character to the fruits.

Also, the Mayacamas Mountains and coastal regions found along the Sonoma County will help you find extremely different soil types such as volcanic, marine, dry and so on. The expert viticulture team at the winery ensures that the climate and soil conditions of a plot are analysed carefully before a varietal is grown there.

In areas such as the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Carneros, you will notice maritime climate, which makes the areas cool and ideal enough for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Dry Creek and Chalk Hill vineyards are places that are known for their elevation and cusp terroris. So, they are great for growing Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Merlot.

In a few parts of Chalk Hill, Alexander Valley, Knight’s Valley, Sonoma Valley and all other areas along the Mayacamas Mountains, you will notice a very warm climate throughout the year. So, the climate & terroir of these places is ideal for growing all Bordeaux-type varietals of grapes.
