Product Notes
Altos Las Hormigas Appellation Altamira Uco Valley Malbec is a premium quality Argentine wine that showcases the essence of Malbec grapes grown in the Uco Valley. This wine boasts a deep and intense ruby color with aromas of black fruits and floral notes that follow through to the palate. Ripe and firm tannins, coupled with a balanced acidity, give way to a long and persistent finish. The grapes are grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Altamira, where the harsh continental climate and poor soil produce low yields of concentrated fruit. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to red meat, pasta, and ripe cheeses.
Tasting Notes
A fantastic vintage for the `Appellation Altamira` Malbec, which shows as much complexity, concentration, and texture as this appellation can deliver. Deep ruby red in colour with violet hues, the nose is intense and elegant, showing layers of black cherry and plum alongside herbal notes of eucalyptus and a touch of minerality. On the palate it is juicy and fresh with fine tannins providing structure. A graceful, deep and structured wine with considerable length.
