Betz Family Winery has been one of the most respected wine labels in the Washington wine market since 1997. The winemaking process is carried out with utmost dedication by the two families that run the wineries. From the vineyards to the bottle, the winemaking process is a constant process of learning and adventure to make the best wines possible.
The family sources the grapes for its wines from some of the richest vineyards in Washington to ensure that the wines reflect the diverse tastes, aromas and intensities. The vineyards chosen by Betz Family Winery are located across four areas. They are Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain, Yakima Valley and Walla Walla.
Horse Heaven Hills
The Double Canyon Vineyard, located just about 6 miles from the Columbia River, is spread across an area of 90 acres. The summers are very long here while the winters are cool. The conditions that prevail here are almost similar to the premium French wine area of Bordeaux. Therefore it is ideal for growing the Syrah grape varietal.
Red Mountain
Located in the Red Mountain area, this Ciel du Cheval Vineyard is believed to produce the best grapes in Washington. The grape varietals grown here are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Mourvedre and Petit Verdot.
Yakima Valley
The Boushey Vineyard, located in Grandview, is known for its cool climate. The grapes are of top-notch quality as this vineyard is taken care of very well. The Syrahs that grow here are simply out of the world!
Walla Walla
You will find three vineyards in the valley of Walla Walla. They are the technologically brilliant Seven Hills vineyard planted across 200 acres, Sevein Vineyards with diverse terroirs planted across 2700 acres and the rocky Old Stones Vineyards located close to the River Rock Vineyard. This area is covered with cobblestones.
