Product Notes
Elvio Cogno Barbera d'Alba Bricco dei Merli is a red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy. The wine is made from 100% Barbera grapes, which are known for their lively acidity and fruitiness. The Bricco dei Merli vineyard is located in the village of Novello and is known for its steep slopes and calcareous soil. The grapes are carefully harvested and undergo fermentation and aging in oak barrels for 12 months. The resulting wine is deep ruby in color and has aromas of dark fruit, spices, and espresso. On the palate, there are flavors of black cherry, plum, and licorice with a balanced acidity and firm tannins. This wine pairs well with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby red in color with clear crimson highlights. Deep, fully perfumed, elegant and well-balanced with reminiscent of roses, undergrowth, wild berries and oriental spices. A powerful bouquet, sweetened by overall softness. Fine structure accompanied by vibrant freshness. Flavors evoke Morello cherries and plum jam with a long finish of raisins.
