Kozlovic is a family-owned winery with rich tradition and philosophy located in Momjam in Croatia. The family’s vineyards are located mainly in Valle, which is right in front of the winery and on carefully selected wine-rich plots in the Santa Lucia single vineyard located in Buje Town. This estate was set up in 1904. Today, with over 100 years of rich history & heritage, the Kozlovic wine name is a force to reckon with in the Croatian wine market.
This present day, many generations later, the family still practices traditional winemaking methods in the Valle vineyards. The climate, soil quality and overall terroir region of this place make it ideal for growing some of the rare, indigenous varietals such as Teran, Muscat Rose, Muscat Momiano and Malvasia. Apart from these, you will also find some international grape varietals here such as Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure that only the best are sent to the winery for further processing.
The technically-sophisticated new winery that was established in 2012 is a must-visit place when you plan a trip to the Kozlovic Wine Estate. Spread across 2200 square metres, this winery houses an exclusive cellar for storing the inox and barrique barrels of wine. The workshops and presentations conducted at the winery here are excellent learning opportunities for young wine enthusiasts. Some of the popular wines created by this brand are:
Valle – Made from 80% Istrian Malvasia and 20% Sauvignon Blanc grown in the West Istrian region of Croatia
Malvazija – Made from Istrian Malvasia grown in the Vale, Santa Lucia and Contarini vineyards
