Product Notes
Scala Dei Massipa is a unique and exquisite wine produced in the Priorat region of Spain. The name "Scala Dei" derives from the famous Carthusian monastery located in the heart of the Priorat mountains. The Massipa vineyard, which lies in the valley, is home to old vines of Grenache and Carignan, which produce grapes of exceptional quality. These grapes are meticulously harvested by hand and fermented in traditional stone vats before being aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. The resulting wine is bold, complex and full-bodied, with rich flavors of dark fruit, spice, and a hint of cocoa. It is a true expression of the unique terroir of Priorat and a testament to the skill of its winemakers.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful stoned fruit and fennel seed aromas dominate the nose with subtle undertones of spice and flowers. The barrel aging brings texture, whilst the Chenin lifts the acidity to yield a wine of exceptional balance and elegance.
