Product Notes

Tommasi Fiorato Recioto della Valpolicella Classico is an Italian red wine that is made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes that are dried for several months before they are pressed. This process, known as appassimento, concentrates the sugars and flavors in the grapes, resulting in a full-bodied wine with an intense flavor profile. The wine has a deep ruby color and exudes aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is well-structured with velvety tannins and a long finish. It pairs well with rich desserts like chocolate cake or a cheese plate and is a perfect wine to be savored after a meal.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, Fiorato is very elegant and complex wine with rich notes of fruit preserved in alcohol. Cherry is at the forefront, accompanied by hints of vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate it is broad and harmonious, with well-balanced sweetness and a persistent finish.

About the Winery

Tommasi

Tommasi was founded in 1902 and is located in Pedemonte, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico region. From grandfather Giacomo’s small vineyard holding, the Tommasi estate has developed over the years becoming one of the most recognised producers of Valpolicella and Lugana. The family owns vineyards in some of the prime hillside sites in the region and it is now managed by the 4th generation of the Tommasi family. An attentive ear to change, respect of place, and high-quality production are three driving factors that put Tommasi among Italy’s leading producers. Their expertise in crafting classic Amarone, reached the pinnacle in the newly launched De Buris project, a single vineyard, long aged expression of Amarone.
