Tasting Notes
Escudo Gran Reserva 2018 initially boasts a beautifully complex and rich nose with juicy black fruit. After a few minutes in the glass, the Carmenere comes through with a hint of smoke and black pepper. The perfectly balanced oak provides a toasty note of vanilla and coffee bean which wraps around a core of cassis and black cherry. The palate has great concentration and balance whilst delivering enough power to deem this wine full bodied, without being clumsy. After an hour in the decanter this wine is really impressive! Its quality will ensure it develops beautifully in the cellar for a decade to come
