Located in the historic region of Provence in France, the Chateau De Berne brand of wines tell you the rich wine-making tradition of the place that is followed for more than three centuries now. The domain of Chateau De Berne is located in the foothills of Massif des Maures. The vineyards here are planted at an average altitude of around 330m. Currently, you can find 121 hectares of vines & olive trees and 500 hectares of wilderness in this domain.
As you explore this region, you will experience the rich winemaking legacy of the Cotes de Provence area. Reds, whites, crus, rose’ and all other types of wines are crafted with great elegance and expertise here. The cool nights at the Triassic Plateau, combined with the limestone-rich soil, play a vital role in giving a smooth finish and structure to the wines produced in this region. The climate also helps the grapes to ripen slowly, which makes them taste heavenly when enjoyed along with contemporary cuisine.
The wine cellar at Chateau De Berne has the capacity to produce 750,000 bottles every year. You have to visit these cellars to understand how modern technologies exist in perfect harmony with centuries-old winemaking traditions to create wines that are world-class and unique. The use of double-bottomed vats made from stainless steel and stained glass windows help in the perfect ageing of these wines.
To combat the large production, the wine cellar also houses a separate bottling unit and storage unit. Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan are the main red wine varietals while Vermentino, Semillon, Ugni Blanc and Ugni White are the main white wine varietals used by this label. The grapes used for making the Chateau De Berne Rose’ wines are Black Grenache, Grenache Noir, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
